19.06.2010 – 20h30 – Sabi Sand Game Reserve
Woke up bright and early this morning at 5h15 to be at the camp at 06h00…Did not see much on the way as it was still dark…and freezing!! I had a shirt, a long leaf shirt, a jersey, two jackets and a beanie!!
Once I got to our office, I started editing and, basically I didn’t stop until 16h00!! Jeez I love it!!! I finished off my Safari TV Diary from the 17th June and I made the 18th diary…which I must say is quite something!! If you have the time to go on You Tube (will post a link) try and remember to watch my diaries from the 17th! Especially if you want to see a leopard feeding on an Egyptian goose, some superb shots of lions and leopards and some very interesting elephant interactions!
As you can imagine I did not have time to go on the net so my blog is still not updated. I will try tomorrow first thing in the morning and I will also put a link so that you can go and watch these two diaries I have already made. Alex is supposed to upload them tonight.
I have so much to learn about Final Cut Pro and finding my way in there is not easy! Alex is of great help but he’s going on leave on the 28 June so I have to be ready and independent by then!! I better start taking some notes! Editing is not a problem but importing files, saving them correctly, exporting the project etc….this is serious shit!! But I’ll get there! Alex is a Russian IT so for him, computer language is not that hard! He reminds me of Jeff from XO Africa! Even tho, one of them drinks more beers than the other! ;)
After a long editing Saturday until 16h00, we came back to our place. Two rhinos on the way!
Took a walk around the property (private property as I have already explained I think) and saw some zebras and impalas by a waterhole nearby. As the sun was setting down I also heard a Brown Hyaena in the distance.
Final Cut Pro Manual time!! And then I will read a bit more of Roxanne’s book…it’s called “Le voyage d’Hector ou la recherche du Bonheur” (sorry if you don’t speak French!) and it’s about finding happiness!
As I was walking around the property this afternoon, I sat by myself in the middle of nowhere to watch the sundowner and I must say I had a bit of a nostalgic moment….don’t get me wrong, I am happy here and I love what I am doing but I thought about a few people with whom I would love to share all of this! My good friends are not around anymore and I must admit that I miss them a lot! But I guess you can’t have everything in life so I better get used to it! It’s just that this afternoon it would have been really cool to sit there with the few people I really love and enjoy that moment to the fullest! But you know what, I was by myself and I still enjoyed that sunset with those zebras and impalas in the golden hour! I enjoyed it for you (because if you read my blog you are a good friend – or you are really bored!) and for me!
One Love!
